Ryan Gosling wins the battle of the Ryans at the Golden Globe Awards
Ryan Gosling has delivered a heartfelt tribute to his "lady" after winning the best performance by an actor in a motion picture—musical or comedy.
Gosling, who won for playing a jazz singer in La La Land, pointed out that it wouldn't have been possible had it not been for Eva Mendes.
He said while he was working, she was raising their daughter, was pregnant with their second, and was helping her brother cope with cancer.
Gosling dedicated his award to Mendes's brother, Juan Carlos Mendez, who died last April.
Another of the nominees was Vancouver-born Ryan Reynolds for his starring role in Deadpool.
"It's not the first time I've been mistaken for Ryan Reynolds," Gosling quipped on-stage.
