      What to expect: Plant yourself in a plush booth, graze on some pub grub, sip a beer or two, and laugh along with some new and hot stand-up comedy.       Jokes Please!: The Fall

      When and where: January 19 at Little Mountain Gallery at 9 p.m.
      What to expect: Jokes Please! is an award-winning standup comedy show that happens every Thursday at Little Mountain Gallery. Hilarious comedians who have performed on Conan, Just For Laughs and The Debaters frequent this cool, indie theatre. This week's theme is The Fall because of the whole Trump thing, ugh. Probably will be more jokes about pomelos than Trump to be honest.

      Queer Prov Monday Late Show at XY

      When and where: January 16 at XY at 9 p.m.
      What to expect: The third Monday of every month is the Queer Prov late show at XY. This weeks show is hosted by Out TV personality and Youtube star Josh Rimer. The cast includes Pearce Visser (Vancouver TheatreSports, Comic Strippers), Briana Rayner (Co-Artistic Director of Instant Theatre), Amir Khan, Michael Sousa and David Borja. Queer Prov is Canada's only LGBT live improv comedy troupe and they have been in operation in Vancouver for over 10 years. The show runs every Monday night at XY at 1216 Bute Street.

      Teen Angst Night

      When and where: January 17 at Cottage Bistro at 8 p.m.
      What to expect: Teen Angst Night is a comedic reading series hosted by Sara Bynoe since 2000 where people share excerpts of their old teenage notebooks. Readers can share anything (poetry, songs, letters, journals, diaries, essays, stories, plays, lists, etc) so long as it follows these rules:
      1. The work must be your own.
      2. You must have written it between the ages of 10-19.
      3. You cannot be proud of the work you share. It’s best if you’re super embarrassed.

      What to expect: Cagematch pits the fiercest and most hilarious improvisers against each other to determine who has the best improv in the city. For 15 years, Cagematch is an underground hotbed of talent where improvisers pull out all the stops for a chance to win $500 cold hard cash. Three teams will go head to head to make you laugh the hardest in an effort to win your vote.
