This raw onion in a plastic bag is on its way to accruing more Twitter followers than Donald Trump

      It began with a humble thought.

      “What if this account that is simply half an onion in a Ziploc bag ended up with more followers than @realDonaldTrump?” tweeted @HalfOnionInABag, a Twitter account created on January 20 that, literally, claims to be half an onion in a plastic bag.

      “Bet that would drive him crazy,” the uncooked vegetable later added.

      Indeed, it probably would. As several Trump aides have relayed to The New York Times and The Washington Post, the new President of the United States “grew increasingly angry” on Inauguration Day as he scrolled through tweets comparing the size of his inaugural crowd to that of Barack Obama’s.

      He also lost his cool on January 21, when he turned on his TV to see reports covering the swarms of women that convened to protest his election win.

      In other words, Trump appears to possess the mindset of a jealous five-year-old, which means this pungent piece of produce surpassing him in Twitter followers would definitely make him mad, which means you should definitely follow the account ASAP.

      In fact, @HalfOnionInABag has accumulated over 530,000 followers in just five days. This is only a fraction of @realDonaldTrump’s 22 million and @POTUS’s 14.3 million, but the bulb looks well on its way to trumping (sorry) the prez.
