While much attention has been drawn to the inequity of women in film, here's one project that goes against the status quo.

April Mullen's Below Her Mouth is a Canadian film shot in Toronto by a female-dominated cast and crew.

Although fashion editor Jasmine (Natalie Krill) is engaged to a fiancé, things change when she meets roofer Dallas (Erika Linder).

Although Jasmine initially rejects Dallas' repeated advances, Jasmine eventually develops an unexpected and intense romance with Dallas. As Jasmine falls for Dallas even more, their connection threatens to change both of their lives.

Swedish model Linder, who garnered attention when she began booking jobs for male campaigns, makes her acting debut in the film.

After the film begins its theatrical run in Vancouver on February 10, Linder and Krill will be here for the film's afterparty by Flygirl Productions on February 12 at Bar None (1222 Hamilton Street).

L.A. DJ Goodboy and local DJ twins Armistice will bring the beats. There'll also be prizes, drink specials, and plenty more.

Early bird tickets are already sold out so it's $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Full details are at the Flygirl Productions website.

Here's the film's trailer to give you a peek at the film.
