If you're a Vancouver rock fan who's old enough to have been a Deadhead back in '66, there's some music just out that might conjure hazy concert memories.

Or at least kickstart an acid flashback or two.

Rhino Records has just released The Grateful Dead: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, which celebrates a half a century since the 1967 release of the legendary Frisco jam band's debut album.

The two-CD set includes a remastered version of The Grateful Dead, but the interesting thing for locals is that the second disc is a previously unreleased live recording from the Dead's shows at the PNE Garden Auditorium on July 29 and 30, 1966.

A number of tunes showcased at the Gardens--including "Sittin' On Top of the World", "Cream Puff War", "Viola Lee Blues", "Beat It On Down the Line", "Good Mornin' Little School Girl", "Cold Rain and Snow", and "New, New Minglewood Blues"--would make the cut when the band released its nine-song debut in March of '67.
