The Bachelor Canada begins casting in Vancouver this week

It’s no surprise that dramatic TV show The Bachelor has been airing for 15 years. At once endearing and infuriating, and full of genuine emotion and false niceties, the series has hit on a formula that keeps viewers hooked. (Let’s face it—it’s the TV equivalent of crack.)

First aired in 2012, The Bachelor Canada is no less addictive. The show focuses on one man’s attempt to search for love, as 20 women do everything it takes to win both his heart and hand in marriage. The women compete for the Bachelor’s affection via individual and group dates that take the competitors to exotic romantic destinations, and as the Bachelor narrows down the field, emotions become volatile, and hearts are broken.

For those ladies who feel like the man of their dreams has so far eluded their grasp—and, more importantly, are confident enough to let their emotions play out under the judgemental gaze of a country—The Bachelor Canada is issuing an open casting call for Canadian women this week.

All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of legal age. You’ll need to bring government issued photo ID, and wear your flashiest dress. Do not wear white, black, busy patterns, or logos, because they’ll interfere with the on-screen test. Exciting.

Production for the show will begin in spring 2017, with a plan to premiere in fall 2017. At present, the producers are seeking 20 competitors willing to win the heart of the next Canadian Bachelor, by holding auditions in six cities across the country.

And, if you ask us, that’s pretty good odds. Right? Right??

The Bachelor Canada auditions are at the Westin Bayshore (1601 Bayshore Drive) on Sunday (February 5) at 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Check out this link for more details.
