      Cavalia presents Odysseo, a multimedia performance that uses equestrian arts, stage arts, and high-tech theatrical effects to examine the centuries-old relationship between human and horse, under the white big top at Olympic Village.

      Showing at the Fairmont Pacific Rim of Japan Unlayered, an exhibition curated by master Japanese architect Kengo Kuma that presents Japanese traditions alongside contemporary design.

       

      DANCE

      Small Stage 35 at the ANZA Club showcases a mashup of genres from hip hop to jazz and urban street to contemporary, co-curated by Vancouver choreographer Heather Dotto.

      Momentum at the SFU Goldcorp Centre for the Arts features three evenings of dance choreographed and performed by students in the School for the Contemporary Arts.

      The Dance Centre's noon-hour dance series presents vibrant Latin dance by Grupo America at Scotiabank Dance Centre.

      Layers of Influence: Unfolding Cloth Across Cultures at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC features more than 130 diverse cultural garments, from Japanese kimonos, to colourful Indian saris, to the elaborate feather cloaks of the Maori people of Aotearoa/New Zealand.

      At the Museum of Vancouver, you can explore the cultural power and significance of collecting through wall-to-wall displays of unconventional objects.

       

      THEATRE

      As part of Boca del Lupo's micro-performance series, creator-performer Karen Hines presents Crawlspace, a darkly comedic, cautionary tale about the brutal battleground of real estate, at the Fishbowl. 

      The hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots--which takes you from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan--is at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

      Classic Chic presents a performance at Pacific Theatre of Corleone: The Shakespearean Godfather, a tale of power, betrayal, and honour that combines Shakespearean drama and Coppola's movie masterpiece.

      Performance at Studio 58 of 42nd Street, the song-and-dance fable of Broadway featuring songs like “We’re in the Money”, “Lullaby of Broadway”, and, of course, “42nd Street”.

      The Arts Club Theatre Company presents a performance of The Audience, Peter Morgan's play that explores imaginary glimpses into the audiences between Great Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and her prime ministers, at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage.

      Performance at the BMO Theatre Centre of the Arts Club's production of William Faulkner's Southern gothic masterpiece, As I Lay Dying. Part of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.

      United Players present a performance at Jericho Arts Centre of Sunday in the Park with George, a musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine about the relationship between an artist and his lover and model.

      Metro Theatre presents a performance of Crossing Delancey, a romantic comedy about a Jewish grandmother who sets out to find a nice Jewish boy for her granddaughter to marry.

      The Vagabond Players present a performance at Bernie Legge Theatre of Towards Zero, a murder mystery that probes the psychology of a jealous psychopathic killer.

      Align Entertainment presents a performance at the Michael J. Fox Theatre of The Little Mermaid, the large-scale musical about a mermaid who dreams of the world above the sea.

      Theatre Conspiracy presents Foreign Radical, an interactive theatrical game that explores security, profiling, freedom of expression, and privacy in the age of cybersurveillance, at Studio 1398.

      The rock-tinged musical Spring Awakening--which tells the story is of adolescent sexual awakening among a group of school children living in a socially repressive setting--is at PAL Theatre.

      Theatre Passe Muraille presents Elle, the story of a young French noblewoman who is abandoned on a deserted island off the coast of Newfoundland in 1542, at the Firehall Arts Centre.

      Exit 22 presents Fawly Towers, director Bob Frazer's comedy about a quirky hotel run by acerbic Basil and his wife Sybil, at BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts.

       

      ATTRACTIONS

      Edgewater Casino offers 24-hour gaming, over 60 table games, a poker room, a high-limit section, 500 slot machines, restaurants and lounges, and live entertainment, including concerts and televised UFC events.

      Grouse Mountain resort features a Skyride to the peak with views of Vancouver and the Pacific Ocean, as well as skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, ice skating, mountain ziplines, and the Peak of Christmas.

      Robson Square Ice Rink offers free ice-skating in downtown Vancouver, with skate rental available.

      At the Bloedel Conservatory you can take in more than 200 free-flying exotic birds and 500 exotic plants and flowers.

      Cypress Mountain features skiing and snowboarding lessons, snowtubing park, cross-country ski trails, downhill skiing and snowboarding trails, and snowshoeing tours.
