The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the 2017 Vancouver International Women in Film Festival

From March 8 to 12, the 2017 Vancouver International Women in Film Festival takes over the Vancity Theatre (1181 Seymour).

Now in its 12th year, the event showcases a lineup of short and feature films by established and emerging women filmmakers from around the world. Each film includes women in at least three key creative roles such as writer, director, producer, cinematographer, lead performer, editor, and composer.

This year, the festival features Ambiguous, Breath, "Dead Triplet", "Fish", "Here Nor There", "January Hymn", Lutine, "Marigolds", On the Farm, "Polish Go Home", "Qipisa", "Ranger", Stingray Sisters, Trip Along Exodus, "Uncertain Spring", and Where to, Miss?.

Cinema fans can also take in moderated Q&A sessions and panel discussions related to the films, artist talks, networking events, workshops, an awards ceremony, a gala evening, and industry events.
