      From March 5 to 7, Beyond 150 Years: An Acknowledgement of Cinematic Territory takes over the VIFF Vancity Theatre (1181 Seymour).

      The film showcase celebrates the impact of indigenous cinematic stories and highlights works and filmmakers from the REEL CANADA catalogue that create shifts within the larger cinematic landscape.

      REEL CANADA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates Canada through film and promotes the power and diversity of Canadian film.

      Highlights include an opening-night reception, screenings of Angry Inuk, a conversation with filmmakers Alanis Obomsawin and Amanda Strong, an artist talk with filmmaker Lisa Jackson, and screenings of Highway of Tears, Atanarjuat: The Fast RunnerKanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance, Four Faces of the Moon, and "Mia'".
