Elton John spotted shopping for records in Vancouver

As police were guarding the Cannabis Culture store in the 300 block of West Hastings, other excitement was taking place a block away.

Today, Sir Elton John dropped by Beat Street Records at 439 West Hastings to rummage through the collection just like any other customer.

The only difference was that the British pop star brought along gorilla-size bodyguards to ensure that he wouldn't run into any unexpected trouble.

Before leaving the shop Sir Elton bought some Scritti Politti records and signed a copy of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
