From March 30 to April 1, the Just Film Festival takes over the Vancity Theatre (1181 Seymour).

Jointly arranged by CoDevelopment Canada, Amnesty International Vancouver, Village Vancouver, and Vancity Theatre, the festival presents 14 documentaries, including three student films from Langara.

The cinematic celebration showcases films about social justice and human rights that highlight themes that range from the migrant crisis to the human toll of the actions of extractive industries in developing countries.

The Just Film Festival will open on March 30, with the exclusive Vancouver premiere screening of On the Bride's Side, which captures the flight of five people fleeing war-torn Syria, masquerading as a wedding party.

Other highlighted films include Sundance Film Festival award winner When Two Worlds Collide and executive producer Jon Stewart's film After Spring.

The closing film is the Vancouver premiere of The Queen of Ireland, which follows Irish drag queen Panti Bliss on his quest to make his country more accepting towards the LGBTQ community.

Tickets for the Just Film Festival are available online.
