On April 16, local pop-culture-themed theatre troupe Geekenders presents Ninten-dance at the Odyssey Bar and Nightclub (686 West Hastings).

Costumed hosts will guide guests through a night that features guests playing video games on TV screens all over the bar and burlesque dancers performing video-game-themed numbers.

To start off the night of geekery, hosts Jessie, James, and Meowth will take the stage with standup comedy. Other highlights include a costume contest hosted by local musical burlesquers Too Fly Productions, with prizes furnished by West Coast Geeks Vs. Nerds, Geekenders, and Golden Age Collectables.

Guests can also dance into the night with music provided by DJ Navi. Tunes are expected to include nostalgic TV themes (Bill Nye the Science Guy, anyone?), as well as club music, the current top 40, and memes like Numa Numa and Gangnam Style.

Tickets for Ninten-dance are $15, but you can snag a discounted one at $12 if you come in a costume.
