Got Craft: Craftedvan marks readers' pages with wit and whimsy

In anticipation of Got Craft?’s 10th-anniversary spring edition, taking place on May 6 and 7 at the Maritime Labour Centre (1880 Triumph Street), we’re getting to know some of the fair’s 75-plus independent designers and makers.

Today, we meet Diana Luong and Erica Carreras, co-owners of Craftedvan.

      Who are you?

We are Diana and Erica, co-creators of Craftedvan! Craftedvan is a local Vancouver business that specializes in handmade magnetic bookmarks. We also create quirky, bright and punny stationery products that are sure to put a smile on your face.

      What do you do?

Our magnetic bookmarks are all designed, cut, folded, magnetized, and packaged in-house! We pride ourselves on the fact that our bookmarks are locally created with love. Our magnetic bookmarks clip over the page of your book and mark your spot while you are reading.

Each character design comes with a front and a back. That way, the front of the bookmark tells you exactly where you left off! Bonus: if your book falls open, you won’t actually lose your spot (unlike a receipt or square of toilet paper).

What's your favourite item you stock?

Diana’s current favorite magnetic bookmark is the set of otters holding hands. Erica’s is a bit different: she currently loves the cherry blossom magnetic bookmark! It changes all the time depending on our moods. That’s what so great about collecting them!

What products will you offer at Got Craft?

We will have a wide range of magnetic bookmarks and fridge magnets—big and small, pretty and funny—for everyone’s needs. We love puns and will have a range of greeting cards that are super cheesy! We hope to see you there! Got Craft rocks!

Tickets to Got Craft? are $3 in advance online or $5 at the door. For more information about the event, or to purchase tickets, click here.
