From May 19 to June 3, Children of God takes the stage at the York Theatre (639 Commercial Drive).
The new musical celebrates resilience and the power of the indigenous cultural spirit through the story of the children of an Oji-Cree family who are sent to a residential school in Northern Ontario.
Through a blend of ancient traditions and contemporary realities, the play explores the redemption of a mother who was never let past the school’s gate and that of her kids, who never knew she came.
