The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors OURO Collective

On May 25 and 26, 8 p.m., OURO Collective takes the stage at the Orpheum Annex (823 Seymour).

OURO Collective is a Vancouver-based dance collective that uses hip-hop, waacking, breaking, popping, and contemporary dance as the foundation for the creation and production of new work.

Presented as part of the New Works at Night series, the local dance company will perform the world premiere of Tangent, which explores the private and public behaviour of self-absorbtion and extreme individualism.

The work features and at times amalgamates the collective’s diverse genres to mirror the individual’s and the community’s struggle and resolve in finding solutions for connection.

Tickets for OURO Collective are $25 at the door and $20 in advance.
