Telus Garden to host Vancouver's first CANFAR Dinner fundraiser for HIV/AIDS research

      For those interested in supporting the ongoing battle against HIV/AIDS, a new fundraiser is being launched in Vancouver this Friday (June 2).

      Telus is hosting a fundraiser for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) called the CANFAR Dinner.

      The evening will feature UBC associate professor and CANFAR Scientific Advisory Committee member Dr. Hélène Côté, who has focused her research on antiretroviral drugs used in HIV therapy.

      The upscale event will be held at the Telus Garden rooftop hosting centre (510 West Georgia Street), starting at 7 p.m.

      The menu will quite the range of internationally influenced selections, including Korean spicy chicken on kimchi pancake, Italian meatball sliders, Spanish-style croquettes, and more.

      Meanwhile, there'll also be an aburi salmon and prawn oshi station featuring premium sashimi, as well as a kobe beef station (with rosemary mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables).

      Desserts will run the delectable range from a jalapeno chocolate mousse to mini pink lemonade cupcakes and French macarons.
