New Game of Thrones trailer hints at apocalyptic showdown

In case you're wondering why #WinterIsHere and #GameofThrones were trending on social media earlier, it's because HBO has just released the second official Game of Thrones seventh-season trailer.

Judging by the video, which features denizens of the various houses preparing for battle, the seventh (and second to last) season will feature even more action than the series is already known for.

In a voice-over narration, Jon Snow (played by Kit Harington) says that "For centuries our families fought together against our common enemy. Despite their differences. Together. We need to do the same if we're gonna survive. Because the enemy is real."

And that enemy, as eagle-eyed viewers might have spotted, are the White Walkers, lead by the Night King in all his icy-crowned glory.

Add three dragons into the mix, and anything could happen.
