The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Constellations

On July 15, the Indian Summer Festival presents Constellations at the Vogue Theatre (918 Granville).

Presented on the festival's closing night, Constellations will feature music by Asian-underground artist Talvin Singh, hip-hop duo Mob Bounce, and composer, spoken-word poet, and beatboxer Rup Sidhu.

Singh is perhaps best known for his landmark album OK, which won the 1999 Mercury Prize, and for starting up Anokha Club Nights at Blue Note in London's Hoxton Square, giving rise to the Asian-underground sound, which melds Indian classical music with gritty electronica.
