With Vancouver Pride Week just around the corner, festivities are increasing in number. Here's a quick rundown of some ways to celebrate Pride with food and beverage.

      Dine out for Pride

If you're planning to dine out on Robson this Thursday (July 20), August 17, and September 21, you might want to consider dropping by Milestones (1145 Robson Street) if you want to support the Vancouver Pride Society.

From 6 to 11 p.m. on those dates, there'll be drag performers, DJs, and happy hour specials, with 10 percent of all sales from the bar going to the VPS.

      Cheers to Pride

As we previously mentioned, the Pride Crawl Fundraiser is on until August 6 at over 45 restaurants and bars throughout Vancouver.

Participating establishments are offering fundraising Pride-themed cocktails.

Like the colours of the rainbow, the creative drinks vary in range and ingredients.

For instance, there's the Keefer Bar's Ladyboy, with Forty Creek Canadian whiskey, lemon, ginger, banana liqueur, and a housemade black sake liqueur served over pebble ice with garnishes. Then there's Tacofino's the vodka-based Violet Chachki (named after the drag queen who won the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race), made with St. Germaine and Crème de Violette.

Partial proceeds will benefit the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation, which provides care for British Columbians with HIV who are facing homelessness, mental-health issues, poverty, addiction, and other challenges.

      A proud cider

For a second year in a row, the official cider for Vancouver Pride is Hopping Mad Cider from Central City Brewing.

This year, they've created a special edition rainbow can. The cans are available at select independent and B.C. liquor stores as well as at official Pride events. Pride promotions will also be held at the Pawn Shop, Beach Bay Café, the Fountainhead Pub, and Timber.

The dry-hopped, cold-fermented cider combines Yakima hops and Cascadia apples.
