Aretha Franklin is back on the market—sort of

Kim Kardashian’s 72-day marriage has got nothing on Aretha Franklin. The 69-year-old singer revealed on January 23 that she has ended her engagement to William “Willie” Wilkerson—just 22 days after they had announced that they were heading to the altar.

Franklin took to her Facebook page to spill the beans, saying, “Will and I have decided we were moving a little too fast, and there were a number of things that had not been thought through thoroughly. There will be no wedding at this time. We will not comment on it any further because of the very personal and sensitive nature of it. We appreciate all of the many well wishes from friends."

Franklin and Wilkerson had reportedly planned on having a beach wedding in Miami, Florida this summer.
