Astro Boy full-length trailer released

It seems like everything from our childhood gets remade and updated.

Some things get made into films and you wish that they hadn’t been, while others come out okay.

Astro Boy is one that seems to be a no brainer. The cartoon was great when it first aired and it'll be great to see it adapted with new animation and CGI .

Freddy Highmore, from films such as The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Golden Compass, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, offers his voice for the role of Astro Boy.

The supporting cast is stacked with stars such as Nicolas Cage, Charlize Theron, Kristen Bell, Samuel L. Jackson, Bill Nighy, Donald Sutherland, and Eugene Levy.

It's the directorial debut for David Bowers, and is based on the original manga written by Osamu Tezuka.

The film is set to hit theatres on October 23, 2009.

i've watched the cartoon series when i was a kid and the trailer seems like the story didn't stray away much from the essence of the manga characters...story lines from the original animation series isn't that deep or elaborate but it was simple and fun where kids can enjoy and learn and appreciate ,hopefully new generations do as we did when we were kids. its nice to see astro coming back to life...i hope you guys bring back the old animations on DVD in north america ...i will watch the movie for nostalgic reasons and to see if the story fits the way i remembered it when i was a kid...
