The B.C. government may have issues with movie goers kicking back with an ice-cold beer, but it appears to have no such quibbles concerning nightclubbers enjoying a round of fighting and a round of tequila shots at the same time.

Quest for Glory Fighting Championships, an amateur mixed martial arts promotion in Vancouver, has announced it has gained approval to stage the "first MMA event to be held in a night club".

A post on the BCMMAA website states:

Quest For Glory Fighting Championships is a local Mixed Martial Arts promotion series that had its first two events in 2011. The third installment was scheduled for January 27th 2012 at the Gossip Nightclub but a week before the event the venue and the promoters were surprised by a phone call from the provincial liquor board (which directly regulates liquor primary establishment such as night clubs) informing them that a request for a temporary change to the liquor license was necessary.

The show had to be postponed which caused QFGFC a lot of complications but as of Friday February 24th the application has been approved and QFGFC 3 dubbed CLUB FIGHTS is now well underway for March 2nd, 2012!

This is great news for sports fans in Vancouver and province wide as it opens the door for MMA in a entirely new type of venue.

According to the post, attendance will be capped at around 65 percent of the capacity of Gossip Nightclub (750 Pacific Boulevard) for QFGFC's first show at the Vancouver venue.

The event is headlined by a five-round featherweight title fight between Emilio "Get Money" Ditrocchio and Christiaan Allaart.

Awesome let's add Live MMA to all the bars down on the Granville strip cause the kids down there are far more responsible than adults at the Rio who might want a glass of Chardonnay while watching a decent film, makes sense to me. This issue keeps getting sillier every minute.

      You're kidding, right

Wow! Now you can watch these monkeys beat the crap out of each other, up close and personal!

Maybe the Rio can put this on their live events list.
