Bear shot with a tranquilizer dart in downtown Vancouver

A bear made an appearance in downtown Vancouver this afternoon (December 12).

CBC News reports that the bear was seen standing on top of a garbage truck.

Conservation officers reportedly shot the bear with a tranquilizer dart.

"#VPD assisted conservation officers with a bear at Georgia & Cambie. Bear has been tranquilized & will be removed from the area," the Vancouver Police Department tweeted.

How is this news? There are bears all over the West End everyday. Black bears, brown bears, leather bears. Just walk past the PumpJack and you'll see what I mean.
