Bisexual Gillian Anderson reveals her attraction to women and men

As agent Dana Scully on the X-Files, Gillian Anderson exuded a smokin' sensuality that appealed to men and women.

I always figured that the show generated high ratings primarily because of Anderson's presence rather than that of her high-profile costar, David Duchovny.

Those who have long suspected that Anderson might bat both ways have finally gotten confirmation, thanks to a recent article in Out magazine.

"I was in a relationship with a girl for a long time when I was in high school," she revealed.

Later, she had a relationship with someone who was far older than her.

Anderson has had a significant lesbian fan base dating back to her years in Vancouver costarring on the X-Files. According to Out, she once uttered the phrase "lick my clit" on a British talk show, not realizing that she was supposed to say these words in German.

She has two young sons with her partner Mark Griffiths, as well as a 17-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

The very fact that such an occurrence is "news" indicates that wider society still hasn't quite accepted LGBT as being something so mundane as to not be a "news item". In another 100 years, perhaps?
