Bob Dylan heading to Vancouver with Mark Knopfler this fall
My favourite Bob Dylan album is probably 1983's Infidels, which was coproduced by former Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler. It doesn't contain any legendary hits in the league of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" or "Blowin' in the Wind", but man--between the six-string action of Knopfler and ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor, it sure boasts some tasty, laidback guitar.
That's why it's particularly cool to report that Dylan just announced a North American tour that will see him playing Vancouver's Rogers Arena on Friday, October 12, with none other than Knopfler as special guest. Tix go on sale next Friday (July 27) at www.livenation.com.
Dylan is releasing his 35th album, Tempest, this September, and will no doubt showcase some tracks from that platter in Van. But if the stars align he might just pull Knopfler up for a tune or two off Infidels. Keep your fingers crossed.
