Bob Rae plays some carols for the holidays
Last weekend, Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson attracted some attention by playing DJ at the Biltmore Hotel.
I followed that up with a short commentary pointing out how other politicians have traded on their musical skills to enhance their popularity.
The ink was barely dry on that piece when I received a notice from the Liberal Party of Canada that its leader, Bob Rae, had recorded some holiday music with his friends at the Dixon Hall Music School.
Bob Rae plays Silent Night
The Same Boat Now, as played by Bob Rae and sung by students in Toronto.
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, performed by Liberal Leader Bob Rae.
And if you want more Bob Rae on the piano, here's the Mummer's Song.

You can feign, Speaker's bristling,
The vote will be tight,
Non-confidence tonight,
Marching to political wasteland.
Gone away is Ignafieff,
Here's Bob Rae, turn a new leaf,
He sings the same song,
In tooth he is long,
Marching to political wasteland.
In the Commons you will build a straw man,
Then pretend he is Pierre Trudeau.
He'll say: Are you Tory?
We'll say: No man,
But you would duplicate
the themes they've found.
Liberals, you conspire,
To squelch dreams and be liars,
Two faced and afraid,
The legacy you've laid,
Marching to political wasteland.
