Christy Clark removes Chris Olsen from her side
Will Chris Olsen attempt to be on your side again?
After nearly a year at B.C. Liberal premier Christy Clark's side, the former CTV News reporter is out of a job.
Global News reports the premier's office has confirmed the former host of the Olsen on Your Side segment was let go.
Global quotes this statement:
As part of a restructuring in the premier's office, the position of a Vancouver-based press secretary has been eliminated.
Effective immediately, all media enquiries should be directed to Shane Mills.
We thank Chris Olsen for his service over the past year and wish him well in his future endeavours.
It remains to be seen if Olsen will bounce back from political spin doctoring to journalism, furthering public cynicism about the media-political complex (the career moves of Bridgette Anderson, Belle Puri, and Jehnifer Benoit also come to mind) in B.C.

The new consumer reporter that took Chris Olsen's place on the local news blows him out the water. Steele on Your Side is way more interesting and intelligent without Chris.

Reading Consumer Reports findings on-air hardly makes you a consumer reporter.

I think that' so sad....when someone leaves a good career for a promise that's swept out from one's feet - I hate that!

If Christy is cleaning house then she should also dump her "Outreach Directors"; AKA as her luncheon group/pals Pamela Martin and Lorne Mayencourt. What exactly do those 2 do for $130,000 a year plus expenses?

Just another example of the cozy ties between B.C.'s media and the B.C. Liberal government. Reporters move in (and in this case move out) of government. B.C. Liberals move in and out of B.C. media, our Premier being the most famous example.

Perhaps an Ambassadorship to a foreign posting will offered?
