Do you agree with this tweet about the NHL lockout?

I felt sorry for the people who lost income during the NHL lockout, including several broadcasters.

But I have a hunch that the tweet above by former CTV news director Margo Harper sums up the sentiment of many Vancouverites.

Last night as I watched the breathless coverage on the CBC National News, I could only think of one thing: "Their bosses are going to be glad to have all that advertising revenue from Hockey Night in Canada."

Never in my life have I ever seen a work stoppage treated with the same childish giddiness as the NHL lockout.

For more than 113 days, every sports-reporting idiot insisted on updating a story that had NO update. Truly sick. Reporters and editors behaved as if we were looking at a hostage incident in Iran.

Margo Harper is right: Over-hyped. I would include "pathetic", "ridiculous", "stupid", "idiotic", etc.
