Does the new B.C. Place Stadium look like a dead spider to you?
The revitalized B.C. Place Stadium will be open for business soon, hosting B.C. Lions and Whitecaps games and monster musical acts and consumer shows.
The half-billion-dollar facelift and roof will also come with a new name, unannounced as of yet but already bought and paid for, according to rumours.
Regardless of the lucky corporate winner of that particular sweepstakes, all such facilities eventually acquire a nickname. When Rogers Arena was technically known as GM Place, people referred to it as the Garage. Now some wags refer to it as the Cable Box or the Phone Booth.
It has been said that the external supports for the redone B.C. Place roof give it the appearance of a dead spider. Can Dead Spider or just the Spider make it as a nickname?
Personally, I think it looks just like a crown roast. How about Crown Roast? Or just the Roast? Or even the Crown?
