England and France settle for 1-1 tie at UEFA Euro 2012
Two footballing rivals played to a predictable 1-1 draw in their opening round-robin game at the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament.
A new(ish)-look young England side got the first goal of the game thanks to Joleon Lescott’s first-ever goal for England at 30 minutes.
However, a steady(ish) French side got the equal share of the Group D opener spoils thanks to Samir Nasri’s 20-yard strike at 39 minutes.
England’s next game is Friday (June 15) against Sweden, which is when the French side (now unbeaten in 22 games) takes on cohost Ukraine.
