Exit Clov and Pin Kuan headline a day of free TaiwanFest music at the art gallery
The Telus TaiwanFest gets underway in downtown Vancouver today, with a huge banquet for the public along Granville Street.
Fans of Taiwanese indie music and Mandopop will be converging on the free musical performances in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery, beginning at 1 p.m. with the Amazing Grace Band.
One of the biggest draws is Exit Clov, a five-piece U.S. band, which takes the stage around 7 p.m.
Twin sisters Emily and Susan Hsu, Aaron Leeder, Brett Niederman, and John Thayer formed the band in 2003. Their 2006 disc Jolly Roget Sessions was produced by Roger Greenawalt, who has worked with No Doubt, Iggy Pop, and Ric Ocasek.
The Hsu sisters, who are of Taiwanese descent, are part of Exit Clov.
That will be followed at 8:30 by the headliner, Mandopop sensation Pin Kuan.
Here's where you'll find the entire lineup.
