Forget Canada Day, celebrate Vegan Pizza Day in Vancouver
A very important holiday falls on the coming weekend. That’s right, I’m talking about Vegan Pizza Day on Saturday (June 30).
Last year, the first-ever Vegan Pizza Day was observed on January 29. Described as a “worldwide celebration of the awesomeness of the vegan pizza”, the holiday is super easy to celebrate. All you have to do is make, buy, eat, or share vegan pizza.
In Vancouver, several restaurants offer vegan pizza. If you like your pizza dripping with Daiya dairy-free cheese, head to the Vegan Pizza House (2119 Kingsway). Vancouver’s first all-vegan pizzeria opened in May 2011, cooking up varieties such as Hawaiian, Vegan Meat Lover, Seafood, and All Dress.
Perhaps you prefer your pizza uncooked. OrganicLives (1829 Quebec Street and 451 Granville Street) serves pizza on a vegetable-flatbread crust which even raw-food haters will enjoy.
Port Moody’s Chomp Vegan Eatery (7-201 Morrissey Road) features a pizza of the day. You can also find raw pizza at White Rock’s Organic Connections Café (15622 Marine Drive).
What are you waiting for? Start making your plans for the Vegan Pizza Day long weekend.

Dairy-free cheese, meat-free pepperoni ... yum. Hey, it tastes just like REAL food!!
The craving for real meat and real dairy is a sign. It's a bit like the craving for real human sexual interaction, instead of porn and toys.
Don't deny what nature designed you to do.
