Live Nationhas announced that Toronto-based alt-folk singer-songwriter Bahamas will return to Vancouver to perform--with guest Jason Collett--at the Rio Theatre on Wednesday, October 24, in support of his sophomore album, Barchords.

Bahamas is the stage name, solo project, and band name of Afie Jurvanen, a self-taught guitar player whose session and stage work with the likes of the Great Lake Swimmers and Feist led to his debut album, Pink Strat.

Consisting of Jurvanen and his live band (Jason Tait, Felicity Williams, and Carleigh Aikins), Bahamas was named one of the “SXSW 2012's Top 10 Shows” by SPIN Magazine, and has garnered critical praise for Barchords.

Tickets for the show are priced at $20 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (September 7) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, at Red Cat, Highlife, and Zulu Records, at all Ticketmaster Outlets and through Rogers Wireless Box Office.
