The Georgia Straight presents David Byrne and St. Vincent at the Centre

David Byrne and St. Vincent have confirmed the September 11 release of their collaborative studio album, Love This Giant, and today Live Nation announced that the duo will perform at the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts on Saturday, October 20, in support of it.

Byrne, formerly of Talking Heads, and American indie-pop darling St. Vincent (aka Annie Clark) met in 2009 at the Dark Was the Night benefit at Radio City Music Hall and began composing remotely, trading song ideas and structures online while Clark toured. Recorded over two years, Love This Giant is a collaboration in the truest sense of the word, with Byrne and Clark cowriting 10 of the album’s 12 tracks, and each artist penning one song individually.

“We'll be doing these songs and a bunch of songs that we suspect people will know, with a group that includes eight brass players, a keyboardist, and a drummer," says Byrne of the tour.

Tickets for the show are priced at $39.50, $55, and $79.50 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (June 22) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase at all Ticketmaster outlets and through Rogers Wireless Box Office.
