Live Nation has announced that Canadian folk-rock group Great Big Sea will play an all-ages show at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, March 10, in celebration of its 20th anniversary and the release of its greatest-hits album XX.

Great Big Sea—consisting of Alan Doyle, Sean McCann and Bob Hallett—has been playing its brand of energetic folk-rock since 1993 and has maintained an unswerving commitment to its original ideals—a belief that a marriage of the group’s own creativity and the joyous folk music of its home in Newfoundland would be an unbeatable combination.

XX is a special two-disc set which captures the highlights of a recording career that has produced 10 full-length CDs and two DVDs. To express the band’s two sides, one disc covers the biggest hits from its more pop-oriented repertoire, while the other contains some of its most loved traditional and folk songs. To balance out the discs, the band recorded six new songs.

Tickets for both shows are priced at $39.50, $59.50, and $85 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (October 26) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, and at all Ticketmaster Outlets and Rogers Wireless Box Office.
