Live Nation has announced that American singer-songwriter Josh Ritter will be performing with his band, The Royal City Band, at the Commodore Ballroom on Friday, March 22, 2013, in support of his upcoming release The Beast In Its Tracks.

The Beast In Its Tracks is the folk multi-instrumentalist's sixth full-length release. Recorded during 2011 and 2012, Ritter composed the album's material to deal with heartbreak after his marriage ended. Says Ritter: “I hadn’t composed this stuff, I’d scrawled it down, just trying to keep ahead of the heartbreak. They needed to be recorded like that. We needed to work fast, make decisions quickly, keep the songs as spare as they could be kept, and above all never allow ourselves to blunt the sharp edges. Some of the songs were mean or evil. So be it.”

All concert tickets will be bundled with a musical package including a redemption code to download The Beast In Its Tracks upon release date. Ticket purchasers will also receive an immediate download of the album’s first single, “Joy To You Baby.”

Tickets for the show are priced at $26.50 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (December 14) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets for the show are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, at Red Cat Records, and at all Ticketmaster Outlets and Rogers Wireless Box Office.
