The Georgia Straight presents Kimbra at the Commodore

Live Nation has announced that pop singer-songwriter Kimbra will perform—with guests the Stepkids—at the Commodore Ballroom on Tuesday, September 25, in support of her debut album Vows.

You may know Kimbra as the female voice in Gotye’s ubiquitous single “Somebody That I Used To Know,” but her story goes further back. Spending her early years gigging around her native New Zealand, Kimbra eventually borrowed a small eight-track recorder from her school’s musical department, and began writing songs in earnest. Over three years in the making, Kimbra’s debut album, Vows, charts the 22-year-old artist’s growth both musically and personally.

Tickets for the show are priced at $25 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (June 15) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase at Red Cat and Zulu Records, and at all Ticketmaster Outlets and through Rogers Wireless Box Office.
