Live Nation has announced that Vancouver-based art-pop band Mother Mother will play an all-ages show—with guest Hannah Georgas—at the Orpheum on Wednesday, December 19, in support of its fourth studio album, The Sticks.

Consisting of Ryan Guldemond (vocals/guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals/synth), Jasmin Parkin (vocals/keys), Jeremy Page (bass/horns), and Ali Siadat (percussion/electronics), Mother Mother’s blend of clever lyrics, quirky arrangements and a multi-dimensional sound has made the group indie darlings with crossover appeal to the mainstream.

Recorded in Vancouver and co-produced by Guldemond, The Sticks comes hot on the heels of a year of touring in support of the critically-acclaimed album Eureka.

Tickets for the show are priced at $29.50 & $34.50 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (September 21) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, at all Ticketmaster Outlets, and through Rogers Wireless Box Office.

I wish someone in Vancouver would have presented the legendary Bob Mould who happens to be playing his seminal Sugar album Copper Blue along with cuts from his latest album Silver Age and some gems from his ummm Husker Du days at the swellegant Showbox in Seattle ce soir.
Ho Hum yet another great musician who can't be enticed to come to our little Sushi town....add Joe Jackson and Psychedellic Furs and endless others to that continuosly growing list too.
I think it's time to stop blaming 9/11 and increased border security as the reason our city is bypassed cause most of these shows play Toronto and Montreal.
Oh yeah I forgot those are world class cites.
      Harrrumph,Harrrumph, grumble, grumble.
