The Georgia Straight presents the Sheepdogs at the Commodore

Live Nation has announced that Canadian rock group the Sheepdogs will play a show at the Commodore Ballroom on Thursday, December 20, in support of its eponymous major-label debut.

Since forming in 2006, the Saskatoon-based group—consisting of Ewan Currie (vocals/guitar), Leot Hanson (guitar), Ryan Gullen (bass), and Sam Corbett (drums)— released three self-funded albums, including 2010’s Learn & Burn which attained Gold certification in Canada and earned the band “New Group of the Year,” “Single of the Year,” and “Rock Album of the Year” at the Junos.

Produced by the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and Austin Scaggs, The Sheepdogs debuted at #1 on the Top 200 SoundScan Chart. “Feels so great to know so many good people are listening,” says Currie. “I have my index finger raised like Larry Bird after he won the 3 point competition.”

Tickets for the show are priced at $27.50 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (September 21) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase by phone at 1-855-985-5000, at all Ticketmaster Outlets, and through Rogers Wireless Box Office.

Weren't they just here?
Maybe we could get a promoter to bring some of the great bands that play Seattle and don't bother coming to Vancouver anymore, instead of seeing the same bands over and over....yawn.
