The Georgia Straight presents Yeasayer at Malkin Bowl

Live Nation and Sealed With A Kiss have announced that Brooklyn-based experimental rock group Yeasayer will perform an all-ages show at Malkin Bowl on Wednesday, August 29, in support of its upcoming album Fragrant World.

Consisting of core members Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton, and Anand Wilder, Yeasayer has been busily touring and recording since the release of its critically-acclaimed 2007 debut, All Hour Cymbals.

Of the group’s upcoming new album, co-frontman and multi-instrumentalist Wilder says, “We definitely try to capture the schizophrenia of what it’s like to be alive today.”

The Yeasayer show is part of this year’s Concerts in the Park series. Since 2002, the series has annually attracted thousands of concert goers to outdoor venues across the lower mainland, including Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park and Deer Lake Park in Burnaby.

Tickets for the show are priced at $32.00 (plus service charges and fees) and go on sale this Friday (June 1) at 10 a.m. on the Live Nation website.

Tickets are also available for purchase at Zulu, Highlife, and Red Cat Records, and at all Ticketmaster Outlets and Rogers Wireless Box Office.
