The powerful rhythms and joyous sounds of Alpha Yaya Diallo’s West African Summit come to the Rio Theatre (1660 East Broadway) on Saturday (December 1) at 8 p.m.

Three-time Juno Award-winning guitarist and vocalist Alpha Yaya Diallo brings a new level of excitement to his intoxicating music through the creation of the West African Summit, a 90 minute presentation of the rhythms and sounds of Guinea, Senegal, and Mali. The West African Summit features choreography by Alejandro Ronceria, as well as music by Naby Camara, Prince Diabaté, Thomas Ehru Niamke, and Vegari Cendar. They will be joined on stage by dancers N’nato Camara and Mabinty Sylla.
