      Book lovers unite at the 27th annual Cherie Smith JCCGV Jewish Book Festival, which takes place from Saturday to Thursday (November 26 to December 1) at the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver (950 West 41st Avenue).

      This year’s festival celebrates authors from across Canada, the U.S., and Israel. The Jewish Book Festival includes literary readings, panel discussions, opportunities to meet authors, writing and self-publishing workshops, film screenings, a literary cocktail evening, and book sales.

      Some of this year’s featured authors include Israeli writer and filmmaker Etgar Keret; Snow Falling on Cedars author David Guterson, who will talk about his latest book, Ed King; writer and filmmaker David Bezmozgis; Giller Prize nominee Alexi Zentner; food writer Danyelle Freeman; poet Jill Bialosky; children’s authors Aubrey Davis, Dan Bar-el, Rae Mate, and Ellen Schwartz, and local writers Roberta Rich (The Midwife of Venice), Joel Bakan (Children Under Siege), and Daniel Kalla (The Far Side of the Sky).
