The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Les Cowboys Fringants and guests at Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver

The Centre Culturel Francophone de Vancouver will present the 23rd annual Festival d’été francophone de Vancouver from June 14 to 24, and getting the party started on Saturday (June 16) will be Quebecois band Les Cowboys Fringants, performing on the Air Canada stage (Granville Street at 7th Avenue) beginning at 9 p.m.

On the heels of their latest release, Que du vent, Les Cowboys Fringants is one of Quebec’s most popular folk-rock-country music groups, and has sold more than 800,000 albums over the past 15 years. The band consists of singer Karl Tremblay, guitarist Jean François Pauzé, violinist Marie-Annick Lépine, bassist Jérôme Dupras, and percussionist Simon Landry.

Openers Alpha Yaya Diallo and Jérôme Minière will perform starting at 7 p.m.
