The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Pick of the Fringe 2012
If you missed a chance to see some of the more popular shows at this 2012 Vancouver International Fringe Festival, check out the Pick of the Fringe, which highlights festival audience favourites from September 19 to 23.
The 10 shows included in this year’s Pick includes Burnt at the Steak (September 19 at 7:30 p.m.), which takes place in a high-end New York steakhouse; Loon (September 20) at 7:15 p.m.), which centres around a janitor’s voyage to the moon; Fishbowl (September 20 at 9 p.m.), Mark Shyzer’s eccentric story about four characters; Romance (September 21 at 7:30 p.m.), starring Vancouver’s David C. Jones; God is a Scottish Drag Queen (September 21 at 9:30 p.m.), an outrageous one-woman show; CAPSLOCK: The Musical (September 22 at 6 p.m.), which explores the pitfalls of modern communication; Til Death Do We Part: The Six Wives of Henry VIII, A One-Woman Play (September 22 at 8 p.m.), starring Tara Travis as all of Henry’s wives; Peter ‘n Chris Explore Their Boddies (September 22 at 10 p.m.), the 2011 Pick winners; Riverview High: The Musical (September 23 at 6 p.m.), where everybody’s favourite comic book characters come to life; and Bookworm (September 23 at 8:15 p.m.), a teary-eyed father-son story.
All Pick of the Fringe shows take place at Granville Island’s Performance Works (1412 Cartwright Street). Tickets are $18 and are available online in advance.
