The Dance Centre presents the premiere of Shay Kuebler’s Karoshi at the Scotiabank Dance Centre (677 Davie Street) from Thursday to Saturday (December 6 to 8) at 8 p.m.

Vancouver dancer and choreographer’s Karoshi combines an all-male dance ensemble, live taiko drumming, and video for a thrilling, high-energy performance. “Karoshi” is a Japanese term for illness brought on by extreme working conditions. Kuebler’s Karoshi explores the “salaryman’s” loss of self through over-working.

Karoshi features dancers Scott Augustine, Hayden Fong, Nicholas Lydiate, and Manuel Sorge, with Uzume Taiko’s Jason Overy, visuals by artist Josh Hite, and media manipulation by Craig Alfredson.

Tickets to Karoshi are $30 and $22 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 604-684-2787.
