The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors Studio 58’s Attempts on her Life
Studio 58, the professional theatre-training program at Langara College, presents Martin Crimp’s Attempts on her Life from September 27 to October 14.
The play, directed by Katrina Dunn, deals with a mysterious woman named Annie, whom the audience never meets. Annie’s dark past is slowly revealed with the help of 15 characters, who are each connected to the woman, begging the question of how each person’s story is told when that person is not present.
Attempts on her Life will be performed in Studio 58’s theatre space (basement of 100 West 49th Avenue), which will be transformed into a waiting room with the creative talents of scenographer David Roberts, costume designer Jessica Oostergo, lighting designer Darren Boquist, sound designer Owen Belton, and choreographer Kathleen McDonagh.
Tickets start at $12 and can be purchased online or by calling 604-684-2787. Performances start at 8 p.m. on Tuesday to Saturday, and matinees start at 3 p.m. on weekends.
