The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors UBC Opera’s Cosi fan tutte

UBC Opera opens its 2012-2013 season with Mozart’s comedic opera Cosi fan tutte. Presented by UBC Opera Ensemble with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, Cosi fan tutte runs at the UBC Old Auditorium from November 1 to 3 at 7:30 p.m. and November 4 at 2 p.m.

The opera tells the story of two young men, Ferrando and Guglielmo, who enter into a wager that test that faith of their two fiancées, Fiordiligi and Dorabella. Based on the libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, the Italian opera was first performed in 1790.

Tickets start at $20; however, pre-sale tickets are available until October 30 at a discounted rate of 50 percent for performances on November 1 and 2.
