Winter Harp caps of an 11-city tour across Western Canada with a performance at St. Andrew’s-Wesley United Church (1012 Nelson Street) on Saturday (December 22) at 7:30 p.m. The holiday tradition, now in its 19th year on tour, features special guest Kim Robertson, one of the world’s leading Celtic harpists.

Clad in medieval attire, the Winter Harp musicians will perform a mix of popular Christmas carols, Celtic songs, and medieval, world, and Spanish tunes. The band will include classical harps, drums, tambourines, temple bells, flutes, and an assortment of rare medieval instruments, including the bass psaltery, the organistrum, and the Swedish nyckelharpa.

Along with Robertson, this year’s Winter Harp ensemble includes Janelle Nadeau, Roger Helfrik, Lauri Lyster, Jeff Pelletier, Joaquin Ayala, and Lori Pappajohn.

Tickets to Winter Harp are $37.25 and can purchased online in advance or by calling 604-684-2787.
