Vancouver cyclists will soon be able to get directions on Google Maps.

At the Sustainable Mobility Summit in Ottawa, Google announced on Monday (November 22) that its online mapping service will add cycling information for several Canadian cities by next week, according to reports.

Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Waterloo, Toronto, Ottawa, and Gatineau are the other cities getting bike directions.

Colour coding will indicate the different kinds of bike lanes and streets used by cyclists.

The bike map has secretly been available for awhile. You can only view if part of the map is also showing the USA, but it disappears as soon as you zoom in.
