Howard Stern gets blown off backstage by Paul McCartney

Howard Stern can't believe that Paul McCartney snubbed him. Ringo wouldn't have.

Howard Stern, the self-proclaimed "King of All Media", didn't have enough pull to get Paul McCartney's autograph at the Apollo Theater last night.

McCartney was performing at a private New York City concert put on by Sirius XM Radio, the satellite service that broadcasts The Howard Stern Show, and during a backstage "meet and greet" Stern tried getting the ex-Beatle to sign a ticket stub for his 17-year-old daughter, Ashley Jade. As he explained on his radio show this morning, it was a humiliating experience when McCartney's handlers gave him the bum's rush.

"Paul couldn't get away from that pen fast enough," complained Stern. "It was like I had AIDS."

Comedian Chris Rock was standing nearby, and on observing the snub he reportedly snickered: "Oh man, that was bad!"

Don't feel too sorry for Stern, though. He might not own a scribble from McCartney, but he does have a new five-year contract with Sirius XM, rumoured to be worth at least US$80-million a year. And don't feel too sorry for Sirius XM either, which threw the party with McCartney to celebrate reaching 20 million subscribers.

Prediction - McCartney was not aware of it, and will apologize within 48 hours. McCartney has been on the show a number of times and gets along really well with Stern. Probably overprotective handlers are at fault...

Howard has spoken about this, He was a little embarrassed but doesn't blame paul at all. Infact he talks about how he himself has made excuses not to sign autographs. Howard makes fun of it because its a nice story for the air. He was humbled infront of alot of famous people aswell as his daughter.
Howard said "It's good for my daughter to see an don't always get what i ask for"
In all honesty paul was probably thinking "Fuck off Howard. I just gave you an autographed guitar like a month ago" How many people are given an autographed replica of pauls guitar by the man himself?
